The Republican Jewish Coalition is targeting Democrat Jewish voters in key states in a concerted effort to pick off the fence-sitters and the politically disaffected members of the Jewish community. The RJC believes there is plenty of Oy Vey gold to be mined in many voter precincts with strong Jewish communities across the crucial battleground states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida.
The ambitious campaign is based on a theme that, according to Ari Fleischer and RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks, Jewish Republicans have been hearing from their Democratic friends and relatives since the 2008 election called “My Buyer’s Remorse.” The project includes television ads involving “testimonials” by Jewish Americans who have turned away from Mr. Obama because of policies they see as anti-Israel.
“The name of the game is Inroads” said Mr. Fleischer in an interview. “Republicans are not going to win a majority of the Jewish vote, but they don’t need to,” he added.
“Even if we lose among Jewish voters 70-30, it’s a big win,” he said. The last time Jewish Americans topped that number, he said was when they gave President Ronald Reagan 39% in 1980. Washington Wire
