Ann and Mitt Romney: A Marriage Primer

Since there has been a lot of talk lately about the spouses of presidential candidates and since that chatter seems to have been mostly concerned with Mr. Newt’s three lady loves, I thought it would be nice to take a look at the marriage of Ann and Mitt Romney.

Now, this video is a very nice piece of Romney for President propaganda and yes, it’s a bit on the corny side, but it’s also a very sweet glimpse into a marriage that has weathered many seasons and some life-threatening illnesses along the way.  Ann Romney is a breast cancer survivor and has been struggling with the scourge of Multiple Sclerosis since the late 90s.

And here is Ann Romney speaking at the Hispanic Leadership Network in Florida on Friday.  She comes off as intelligent, warm, friendly, and sincere.

I might be wrong but I do think that a potential presidential spouse is on some level a factor in how people vote. Ann Romney strikes me as definitely FLOTUS material while Callista The Third does not.

    • Well, we’ve had philandering men in the White House, so with Callista, she would be our first philandering First Lady. And not to sound catty here, but what woman in their right mind would help Newt Gingrich commit adultery?! Eeeks!

  2. Lori Heine says:

Agreed. Mitt isn’t the perfect candidate, but I believe he’s a decent man. And I think he realizes that whatever his past record may have been, he will need to govern as a conservative if he wins the White House

Incidentally, our local gay conservative group had its first meeting this evening (Sunday). It was a tremendous success! We plan on keeping it going, and we will be getting together sometime probably within the next week to go see “The Iron Lady” with Meryl Streep as our first real group activity.

Thanks so much for your help in encouraging this group to get together. You are indeed an honorary member.

  3. Very nice! Thank you for those. I’m definitely smitten with Mittens and now his wife as well. No, he doesn’t fit my criteria for the perfect President 100%, but I’m willing to overlook those areas with which I disagree for a capable, loyal person with a track record for fixing problems who I think can fix this country’s fiscal issues. Without capable hands, I’m scared to death what’s coming.
