Newt Gingrich and Wife Number Two

Marianne Gingrich, ex-wife of Newt Gingrich, and the second spouse of the former Speaker in his current run of three, just had to get her mug on national TV to sing out her farewell song about the man who done her wrong.  And while the motives of ABC in airing this piece of pathetic political soap opera are obvious, the personal agenda of Mrs. Marianne is a little less than clear.  Of course, she wanted to wreak revenge for Gingrich’s unfaithfulness and hopefully spoil her ex-husband’s chances of winning the Republican nomination.  But this lady’s sorry gotcha exposé really fell far short of anything devastating in this jaded day and age.  Muddled Marianne came off like a bitter shrew in this interview, a sad loser still brooding over a man who dumped her long ago.  A big yawn for ABC’s American audience.

And the real kicker in this dirty personal so-called scandal is the fact that Newt Gingrich cheated on his first wife with poor pathetic Marianne.  Yes, Spouse Number Two was quite happy to run around with a married man, dishonoring the sanctity of marriage itself and ripping apart the life of Spouse Number One, a woman who was battling cancer.

Sometimes what goes around comes around and Marianne Gingrich got what she deserved.  Forget the boo-hoo for Spouse Number Two.

I agree that Romney has not been running a very inspiring campaign. All his gazillions of dollars will get him nowhere if he trusts in his campaign war-chest alone.

And I would advise neither candidate to overlook the fact that gay conservatives are very real. We aren’t going to buy self-righteous gasbaggery from straight politicians who can’t keep their own flies zipped or who ignore us. We also have plenty of loved-ones who are very conservative, but who know better than to buy into their demonization of us. At this point, when they do that, they’re just making themselves look stupid.

I’d like to point to one corner of America where we are definitely coming together and finding our voice: Phoenix, Arizona. Our gay conservative group has set its initial gathering for 4 PM this coming Sunday — and we already have somewhere between six to eight people planning to attend. There are many more of us out there, in Arizona and all over the country. Hear us roar!

Yep, and that’s exactly what he’s been doing. Needs to be a shake-up in his campaign and soon.

And great to hear that your group in Phoenix is moving along–you’re right, there are many more of us out there.

“But what kind of man does this?”

That’s the question that just won’t go away.

And does he have at least enough basic human decency and humility to know better than to get up on his high horse and lecture us about our “lifestyle?” I wonder if Newt Gingrich even knows what humility is.

A commenter on my blog, who is a Democrat, says “Please nominate Newt.” I wonder if Repubs have gotten so insular that they’ve even forgotten there’s going to be a general election. Or how our eagerness to stomach hypocrisy might look to everyone else in this country.

    • Gingrich is an arrogant hypocrite who is a cold selfish egotistical SOB. Such men (and women) see nothing wrong at all in lecturing others about their ‘lifestyles’. (He gleefully helped to headhunt Clinton while basically doing the same dirty stuff as Mr. Bill). But of course, he’s now a repentent sinner.

And if Mr. Romney thinks that attacking Gingrich is his next strategic move now that he’s lost SC, then he’s really misreading the conservative tea leaves. He needs to step away from the Republican elite party-line and stop tip-toeing around Obama and the left-wing media. My god, his campaign is turning into McCain, The Sequel.

Sorry.. can’t follow you here. Yes, it’s true that Mistress #1 is all phonilyrighteously indignant over the Philander Patriot wanting to screw around with Mistress # 2 while remaining marred to Mistress # 1 now Wife #2. But what kind of man does this? And are we really prepared for the ice-blonde Tiffany Queen “devout Catholic” Mistress #2 now Wife # 3 ( as of today) as FLOTUS?

    • Gutsy, you captured the Gingrich convoluted marital merry-go-round so well. His life sounds like an afternoon TV soap opera. Certainly not defending Mr. Gingrich–he’s a self-involved opportunist, a shallow selfish individual. But then again so is wife #2 and wife #3.
