I’m an avid Tolkien fan and was very impressed with Peter Jackson’s cinematic production of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. So, I’m now eagerly awaiting his next project, The Hobbit. Unfortunately, it’s not scheduled for release until December 2012, so another year to wait. I wonder though if the movie-going public has already overdosed on the Tolkien phenomenon. Well, we shall see what the box office receipts have to say next year.

I just got a leatherbound volume of The Hobbit from a church sale a couple of weeks ago. I love real books! I don’t know if I can ever wrap my mind around Kindle. There’s something about opening up a real, solid leatherbound volume, with illustrations, and smelling the leather and hearing the crackle of the pages as you turn them.
I’m looking forward to reading it. And (I hope I don’t sound like a weirdo) but smelling it, too.
I agree with you, Lori, and I know exactly what you mean. I have a Kindle but the reading experience is just not the same. It’s so much more than just taking in the words. What a great find–enjoy your discovery.
