And Winter Begins…
The night is dark and the sun is gone,
Yet we know that the wheel turns on.
Through midnight’s hour, solid and dark,
Within our hearts there remains a spark.
Blessed be!

18 inches and counting,12 miles west of Denver. It’s 21 degrees and Christmasy beyond words.
😀
How fantastic. Christmas in Colorado. Here in the Philly area temperatures are in the 50s–it’s sort of like Spring time with tinsel.
Snow is flying right now. We are expecting 10 inches in the Denver area. It’s very brrrrry out there. 😀
How nice and seasonal with only three days to go until Christmas eve. If I didn’t have to drive in it or remove it from my CRV or shovel it off the walkway, I would really enjoy it, especially at this time of year. It’s almost magical.
I hope for a long, cold, snowy winter.
Here in the mid-Atlantic states, we’re overwhelmed by just a couple of inches of snow–almost everything comes to a stand still. At least for this winter I’ll be two-handed (broke my wrist last year) and I’m all set for shoveling. Can’t wait.
I live in a small town that always gets lots of snow, so it doesn’t really cause any problems. I’m sure my opinion would be more similar to yours if I lived there. Still, I love the winter because it’s not the summer (which means heat and bugs, two things I can’t stand) and I’d rather go to the ski hill than the beach.
Geez, I almost thought this was gonna be a lavender-wearing sage-brush-burning braless-wearing candle-burning anti-male diatribing liberal rant! But then I remembered where I was . . .
Happy Solstice! (and the days will soon end later:)
And Happy Solstice to you too, Sharon. Let’s hope this winter is short and snow-less.
I’m in San Diego. Snow? 😉
That’s right, rub it in.
I’m in the Phoenix metro area in Arizona. Winter is the only time of year I can even wear long sleeves comfortably. Don’t wish it away too fast, for my sake. Please!
I really do like living in an area where there are four distinct seasons. And when it comes to clothes, winter really lets you be creative. And as Naamloos has said, no bugs, no suffocating humidity.
