To pasteurize or not to pasteurize, that is the question. Whether tis healthier in the body to suffer the germs and parasites of unadulterated cow’s milk or to take up arms against this sea of natural food supporters and by opposing, put an end to them.
Well, it appears that our hydra-headed federal government, in the form of its fickle and feckless FDA, has decided to charge ahead in its battle against the natural milk movement and the whole food advocates who insist that raw milk is safer and healthier to consume than its pasteurized poser.
“A year-long sting operation, including aliases, a 5 a.m. surprise inspection and surreptitious purchases from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania, culminated in the federal government announcing this week that it has gone to court to stop Rainbow Acres Farm from selling its contraband to willing customers in the Washington area. The product in question: Unpasteurized Milk.
It’s a battle that’s been going on behind the scenes for years, with natural foods advocates arguing that raw milk, as it’s also known, is healthier than the pasteurized product, while the Food and Drug Administration says raw milk can carry harmful bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli and Listeria”. And here’s the only appropriate response to this federally funded attack against the Amish raw milk pushers and it was given by Brad N on the Washington Times news site. I laughed out loud when I read it.
A YEAR LONG STING? A 5 am Raid? An undercover secret agent using aliases? A 10-page complaint? I guess those evil Amish guys are so sneaky that it took a team of junior G-men working round the clock to catch them. Sounds like the beginning of a John Candy movie. We have got to stop the Amish menace! Maybe Janet Reno could accuse them of being a religious terror death cult and Holder would send out the ATF. The Amish don’t have a place called the Ruby Ridge Ranch do they? That would be perfect!
The Amish, they don’t just block traffic anymore.
