Sarah Palin and GOProud: Gay and Conservative Do Go Together

Sarah Palin was questioned in an interviewed on CBN News concerning the recent controversy over CPAC 2011 and its inclusion of GOProud as one of its sponsors.  Ms. Sarah came out (excuse the pun) on the side of inclusion.  After all, conferences are supposed to be about gathering information and engaging in healthy debate, right?  Below are her comments on the topic.

Thank you so much for having a conservative view. I am not out as a lesbian yet. I thought i was the only one. Oh by the way i love the Mich Moore picture its hillarious. Thanks again.

    • Take heart, because you’re certainly not the only one. We’re out there and slowly but surely we’re finding each other. And thanks for the feedback–when I saw that Michael Moore photo on Photobucket I knew I just had to use it.

  2. Hi, just found your blog. Was reading over at Breitbart and saw your comment with your link. I am always glad to find gay conservative bloggers; one of my closest and dearest and longest friendships is with a woman who is a lesbian, and she and her partner are ardent patriots, with a complete understanding of how the left uses minority groups. I like your blog and your writing. I enjoyed reading your ‘about TLC’ page.

Much continued success, I’m subscribing to your feed. Thanks for your courage and glad to find you!

And as for Sarah, it seems that many of the gay conservatives I know and/or follow are very supportive of her. (As am I.) I think it’s because they somehow sense that they have nothing at all to ‘fear’ from her, that she will not use them, or try to ‘hurt’ them in any way, shape, or form.

    • Hi Conservative Pup,

Thanks for your kind words and best wishes. You’re absolutely right about Sarah Palin. I see her as an honorable woman who takes her Christian values to heart in a very affirmative way. Conservative gays and lesbians have a tremendous respect for her courage and convictions.

I do not excuse the pun; I appreciate it.
