Well, well, well. It seems that every once in a while the insulated elites of the academy, those glorious grandees who pontificate from on high, can manage to mentally connect with us lowly lizard-brained earthlings living in the real world.
The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois this week unanimously denied William Ayers’ request for emeritus status. Emeritus status grants retired faculty members access to college facilities and can offer other perks such as an office on campus. Emeritus status also allows ex-faculty members to have an impressive, fancy-dancy title after their names long after they have left the hollow halls of academe. Ayers retired from the university earlier this year.
And guess who led the assault on Mr. Ayers lefty laurels? In an impassioned speech in front of board members, Christopher Kennedy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the university and son of the late Robert Kennedy, invoked the assassination of his father for his decision to deny Ayers’ request.
I am guided by my conscience and one which has been formed by a series of experiences, many of which have been shared with the people of our country and mark each of us in a profound way….I intend to vote against conferring the honorific title of our university to a man whose body of work includes a book dedicated in part to the man who murdered my father.
So the academic umbilical cord has finally been cut. Well, it only look 20 plus years for the University of Illinois to snub this jumped-up Left-wing jihadist. May he now creep his way through the wilderness of life with the mark of Cain upon him.
Just found your blog via a link at http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/ann-coulter-goproud-speech-092710 They got your URL wrong, of course, but I figured it out.
I can’t tell you how much I LOVE the idea of vocal, patriotic, conservative lesbians (that are as disgusted by Bill Ayers as I am).
I’m a bit ashamed to admit that it never occured to me that your demographic even existed. Very sorry for that. As a quietly pro-life conservative atheist, I thought I was the only freak show in the Republican party.
Hi Marc. I think the Obama freak show and the Democrat party have driven many refugees into the arms of the Republican party.
YAY oh YAY that is terrific news! I used to believe in public education, not anymore. It sicken me that this, I don;t know what to call him…. had any part in my children’s education.
Thanks for making my day 🙂

You’re welcome, Mary.
