Sometimes is takes a mini blizzard to finally slow us down. After a work week of haste, hurry, and make it happen, how wonderful to be sitting all snug in my bed watching Christmas DVDs. No one to visit, nowhere to go, no excuses to make.
Tomorrow there will be much shoveling of snow, but for this evening, I’m basking in the warm LCD glow. On tonight’s agenda are some of my favorite Christmas movies: Jean Shepard’s A Christmas Story, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Scrooge. And of course, it wouldn’t be a great time at the movies without my favorite food, chocolate.
There are some other great Christmas movies that I should add to my limited collection: White Christmas, The Bishop’s Wife, It’s a Wonderful Life, Holiday Inn, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Christmas in Connecticut, and Miracle on 34th Street. I think the classics from the 1940s and the 1950s are the best.
Whoops! Time to insert another DVD.
