I made it to the Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville, north of Allentown, on Friday to participate in the patriot greeting for our illustrious president. Driving up the main route through the town, there were pockets of patriots scattered along the road and at street corners. A few Obama supporters were sprinkled here and there, but they were outnumbered by patriots by about 3 to 1.
The main demonstration was held at the college where about 100 tea party participants waited for Obama at the entrance to Berrier Hall. Mixed in with the patriots was a small but vocal band of Obama supporters that included a harpy with a bullhorn. Between blasts from the bullhorn harpy, patriots shouted their own slogans, such as: “Say hello to ACORN for us”, “Seen any man-made global warming lately”, and “Merry Christmas”. At the entrance to the drive leading to the Hall, there was another group of patriots, about 75 or so.
Here’s a shot of some of the demonstrators at the building’s entrance and another photo of one of the street scenes in Schnecksville. Interesting, that notwithstanding the invited guests gathered to hear Obama’s speech, the imperial supporters were few and far between.
